B.Tech (Automobile Engineering)

Department of Mechanical Engineering

B.Tech (Automobile Engineering)

Bachelor of Engineering with specialisation in the automobile has the curriculum for designing, manufacturing, testing and maintenance of automobiles. With the enormous growth in the auto industry, the scope of this field has increased exponentially. For manufacturing and designing automobiles, this branch uses the features of different elements of engineering such as electronics, software, mechanical, electrical etc.

Various subjects like engine systems, four-year thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, electronics and control systems, aerodynamics etc. are the therefore-year professional program. The main strength of this branch is its well-equipped labs where students learn to perform real experiments using the machines, equipment, and software to get in-depth knowledge of automobile engineering and technology. Some of these labs are mechanical engineering lab, WT lab, CAD/CAM lab, Chassis designing lab, FM lab, IC engine lab etc.

Program Educational Objectives / Core Modules:

  • To provide knowledge of the working of the braking system, chassis, axles and steering system, suspension system, tires, and wheels.
  • Provide hands on knowledge on an Automobile engine.
  • Teach various activities like dismantling, overhauling and assembling of an engine.
  • Impart quality education to the students of automobile engineering to excel in their field.
  • Develop associations with organisations for production, design, and service.

Scope / Employment Opportunities:

There are a lot of employment opportunities for qualified automobile engineers and they can select a career in the automobile industry, which leads to bright future. Now, with so many foreign automobiles companies like Volkswagen, Audi and Renault etc. targeting India as a base for manufacturing cars the scope for a career in the automobile industry is rising rapidly.
